Overview

Floridita encompasses the best in Cuban music, cocktails, cigars, food, design and hospitality. Downstairs in the original Mezzo building, a gleaming ten metre bar and varied seating areas create a vibrant atmosphere in which to enjoy the best daiquiris in the world. The Floridita restaurant menu, developed by Executive Chef Andrew Rose, is an ingredient-led, modern interpretation of cosmopolitan Cuban and Latin American cuisine and includes snapper ceviche, Pata Negra Ham, charcoal-grilled Langosta (Cuban crayfish) and butterflied milk-fed leg of lamb. The bar offers a selection of aperitivos and sharing dishes. Cuba has always been at the forefront of Latin music culture, as illustrated by the phenomenal global success of the Buena Vista Social Club, and the Floridita bar and dance floor resound on a nightly basis to the rich rhythm of live Cuban bands and spectacular cabaret, evolving later in the evening into more modern Cuban, Latin and international beats, mixed by leading international DJs.

I made reservations on a solo trip to London, after I went to see a show. I made the reservations on Time Out, but they screwed up and booked my reservation for before the show, even though I wanted them after. (Time Out made the mistake, not Floridita.) When I got there, there was a bit of confusion but I had my confirmation verifying the times and showed it to them and they were super...more

This is the IT place for salsa based on what I have heard. So went to check it out on a Saturday night with a few girlfriends. It was very happening even at around 10 o'clock. It is a bit strange to me to see a mix of activities happening in this club: there were people having a full meal, people standing around chatting and of course, people showing off their salsa moves, or lack there of, on...more

Birthday celebration !

Picture of the birthday girl main meal, deleted my food photo of belly pork.

Lovely atmosphere, decor of a 1920 lounge seem like another world once you enter and then come outside i the heart of westend.

The food was good but wasn't mind blowing amazing.

They used a lot if crush sea salt over the food, even the butter, which was not needed at all, wafer thin mixed...more

The cocktails upstairs seem better than downstairs, but downstairs has the live music.

Good atmosphere and experience. Anecdote: one night I saw an engageg lady lose her engagement ring. She was concerned for the first 30 minutes, and she didn't seem to find it, but after that she stopped worrying and got back to drinking. I feel that story sums up Floridita...more

Big fun at Floridita! Stiff entry fee of £10 but it's worth it. It's a big venue. The nightclub is downstairs with a live salsa band and, so, therefore lots of salsa dancing!

Plenty of seating, plenty of room to move.

Free cloak room.

Adequate bar service and adequate drink.

But it's a fun venue especially if you're prepared to give salsa a go!more
