Huge pub. Lots of areas to chill in (or hire if you have a group, as I later learned). The staff are great, they're really friendly even if you do have to remind them to take your order sometimes. I like that because they're not always pushing you and upselling you. There are guest rooms too, I took a look at them and they're really nicely done, in fact the old function room upstairs has been...more
My boyfriend's mother celebrated her 70th birthday here.
She picked this pub because it has moderate prices -though one day before the party they changed the price and menus- and because it has a hotel.
I have to admit, the place was pretty cute with the decorations and everything but I've seen better.

It's got a crackin' garden - very quaint and comfortable. Lots of seats out front too. Yummy food. Nice staff. Reasonably priced drinks. Wicked music.

I was pleasantly surprised. It's a great so called Gastro pub. Décor is a little...more
We've had our work Christmas party here for the last few years. The pub has a great atmosphere, with several different areas to sit in and a lovely beer garden out the back.
I agree with other reviewers - this is a great place for a pint or a G&T and a chinwag with some mates. It's not that good a place for food. Besides the Christmas party I've eaten four times here and for three of them...more
