Huge pub. Lots of areas to chill in (or hire if you have a group, as I later learned). The staff are great, they're really friendly even if you do have to remind them to take your order sometimes. I like that because they're not always pushing you and upselling you. There are guest rooms too, I took a look at them and they're really nicely done, in fact the old function room upstairs has been...more

So William the Fourth, or William IV as it is now known came to my mind. A place that is walking distance from me, though one I haven't been for over a decade.

I was pleasantly surprised. It's a great so called Gastro pub. D├ęcor is a little...more

We've had our work Christmas party here for the last few years. The pub has a great atmosphere, with several different areas to sit in and a lovely beer garden out the back.

I agree with other reviewers - this is a great place for a pint or a G&T and a chinwag with some mates. It's not that good a place for food. Besides the Christmas party I've eaten four times here and for three of them...more
