This is the quintessential British fish-and-chips shop.
They offer several different kinds of fish that are skillfully fried. Portions are large and very good value for the money. Every time I am in London I seek this place out for a good meal. I enjoy the plaice, haddock, or cod depending on my mood. The fryers really do know their craft!
Inside is clean, tidy, and vintage. Formica obviously...more
We came here because I read it was one of few places to still fry their fish and chips in beef fat. However, I don't think the actual frying was very good. Best fish and chips in London. Huge portions and delicious mushy peas make this a perfect dinner or post-drink indulgence. Plus, there's a good chance you'll have to share your booth with a stranger, making it even more of an adventure!more

All in all, not a bad place to visit and my lowish score is probably a result of...more
Portions are huge. Tried mushy peas for the first time here, which is a pretty big thing in London and it was interesting. It wasn't amazing but it's something worth a try if you're in London. I really liked the chips. Unfortunately you have to pay for tartar sauce? 40p a pack. It's a small little place but that's where I hear you get the best fish and chips!more
