This smart glass-fronted café, restaurant bar on Belvedere Road is neighbours with the Royal Festival Hall, Yo Sushi! and Chez Gerard in that cultural hot-spot, the Southbank. The 82-dishes (excluding set, special and children meals) offer a comprehensive taste of Turkey's national (healthy) diet. There's kisir, a cold starter of nuts, bulgar wheat, herbs and spring onions. Hearty mains include kuzu guvec, a lamb casserole, and a delicious mariage of runner beans and onions served with a rich tomato sauce and rice called yesil fasulye. There are fish, pasta, rice, and special veggie dishes too. Desserts make an intriguing change from treacle pudding and cheesecake. How about kaymakh kestane - sweet chestnuts sprinkled with chestnuts and served with home-made cream?

What a great place to stop and have lunch after visiting the London eye. We're trying to avoid the rain so we stopped in and had some hummus and pasta and wine. I know those don't sound like they go together but it was actually quite scrumptious. The location is fantastic, right down by the river.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a quick pitstop in between tourist attractions.more
The pasta has good flavor that we can finish it all at once or maybe we're very hungry!
The fish and chips taste good but a bit oily after a few bites.
Yet the service is very friendly and nice and the foods are ready soon very efficient!more
Good quick Mediterranean lunch at Southwark. Only drawback was the constant vapor smoke drafting down the patio. Hummus was fantastic. Chicken tender and flavorful.more
After watching the fireworks on the Southbank, Isabel B and I wandered in here.
Buzzy vibe but not full. Beautifully decorated on a Middle Eastern theme with some lovely, colourful and ornate lighting. I'm assuming the chairs were intended to be authentic but they were really low. It felt odd sitting in them.
We were approached twice to order and then took a long time to actually receive...more
