Good beer, good service, a great almost terraced, almost covered, almost garden where you can enjoy your sherbet al fresco. Very close to London Bridge and one of my three favourite pubs around here.more
Back in London again and I'm glad I found Bunch of Grapes. I was initially looking for a place to watchthe Chelsea-Liverpool match, but as usual, finding a place with food and a seat was impossible. So we stopped at the first pub we saw and are glad we did. The service was good and the food was hot, filling, with a touch of flavor.more
Oh pubs, how I missed thee. Especially ones just like this - cosy, decent draught selection, lots of shelves on which to place your pint (much overlooked but necessary bar furntiure, especially when there are never enough seats), friendly staff. I'm glad the All Bar One (i know, boo hiss) was too packed to consider and we came here instead.
It was standing room only on a Thursday after work...more
The chicken and ham pie was tasty, but a thin gravy and fading concern about the joined vegetables kept his from shining. The staff was quite friendly though.more
I can't speak of this place with much authority, as i was only in here for one pint as i waited for the significant other to go to the nearby bank. But here is what i did notice:
1) friendly staff
2) a traditional English pub vibe without being too themey
3) a spectacular back patio on which i desperately wish we had spent some more time
4) honest to god casked ales! These may be all over...more
