Wenn man das äußere des Theaters sieht, kann man sich kaum vorstellen, welch großen Zuschauerraum das Shaftesbury Theater beherbergt. Interessant sind auch die vielen verwinkelten Gänge bis man endlich an seinem Platz angelangt ist. Der einzige Negativpunkt: die Beinfreiheit. Wenn man über ein längeres Fahrgestell verfügt, lohnt es sich, einen Gangplatz zu buchen.

The real address should be St Giles High Street not Shaftesbury ave unless there is 2 addresses, but its close enough. The place was hard to find coming on foot from Tottenham Court Road. If you know me personally, can you just pretend Im not from this city?....LOL. I cant always remember my way around!

I went to see Flashdance! OMG, you absolutely should, particularly if you, like me, use OMG in sentences, like complicated dancing and are completely fascinated by the prospect of on-stage welding.

That aside, let's onto the theatre. The downstairs ladies loos, tucked at the back of the stalls, are but four, and have that curious only-to-be-found-in-theatres tang of urine and cheap bleach....more

After much trying we found the theatre (always good to do a recon in the afternoon!). It's close to the other theatres but not in the heart of the district. It's a small, rather intimate venue and I doubt there's a bad seat in the house. The lobby is small, and while the bar area is small as well, the service was fast, friendly and efficient. My dance-loving sister took me to see this show, and I was indeed very surprised by how it managed to catch my attention, and touch my heart.

This performance is best described as a fusion between a musical and a dance show, why it is very unique, and a must-see if you are into either of the above (musicals and dancing, that is). Even if you are not, I think this show will amaze you.
