This park is beautiful. I needed to burn off some calories for the day with all the pastry eating. The weather was good and I wanted a random stroll while shooting the shit with my bestie. It is a huge park but accessible.more
I live a few minutes away from the park & seriously enjoy the freedom it brings having it so close by. The park itself is huge and has a beautiful ornamental garden which is well tendered to. The park is dog friendly with the benefit of being clean ie no inconsiderate dog owners leaving poo. Overall a lovely park and in my opinion nicer then Dulwich Park.more
Peckham Rye park is great, there is plenty of grass for games as well as a gated area with japanese garden and play areas. There are also loads of parakeets living in the trees here which means there is a flurry of green in the summer and a lot of squawking!

I lived a two minute walk from Peckham Rye Park for 8 months before I visited it - getting a puppy makes you do weird things like go outside early in the morning and walk through lovely leafy parks, I guess.

Peckham Rye and Common is a sizable green space at the top of Peckham. It is currently being restored in 2007/8 (peckham used to be posh don't ya know!!) including the Japanese gardens.
Unfortunately, they are not restoring the outdoor lido but sports lovers can make use of the basketball courts which are free of charge or hire out the foorball pitches through southwark council booking office...more
