Hook

About

Originally a Dublin seafood stand, Hook is now a big name in the fish and chips world. This restaurant looks to invest as much time as possible in each of the few ingredients that go into a fish and chips. This means that the Hook team only works with 100% sustainable small fisheries; uses only recycled, re-usable, wooden packaging; and offers take-away cutlery made from biodegradable corn starch. The menu changes daily and each dish adjusts to that day’s catch. Watch out for the Cajun spiced hake.

Delicious freshly made fish and chips. Portions are plenty too, and it's right by Camden Market if you want to walk around and burn those calories afterwards!more

Hook is awesome for so many reasons. Let me count the ways:

1) They promote sustainable fishing.

2) Their fish and chips are great.

3) They have a great beer selection.

4) Staff is friendly.

5) They have vinegar in spray bottles.

I had the tempura battered lemon/basil sea bream (aka porgy). Fried perfectly. Not too greasy. Big filet slices. Tons of fries.

The decor of the place is also...more
