In upscale Mayfair, The Market Tavern in London serves traditional British fare with a contemporary stamp. The plush Chesterfield Room is available to hire for private dining, and the restaurant also runs a monthly live band night. The Market Tavern is shabby-chic, with baroque-print wallpaper adding a flush of colour to the dining room, along with distressed oak tables and oversized fringe lamps contributing to the old-school vintage design scheme.

On a side note we met an old man...more
Great food for a reasonable price, really good for work lunches. Friendly and accommodating staff.
The only possible negative are the hoards of suited finance office workers that flood the place from 4pm, being generally obnoxious. However if you avoid that time on a weekday, you're set.more
I can't comment on the beer/drinks because I was there for lunch and can't mix drinking with productivity. It's one or the other and today I chose the former.
But I can say that on Sundays they offer several classic roasts (beef, chicken, pork and veggie/nut something), plus a full menu of other stuff (burgers, fish & chips, etc).
Loved my roast beef platter, which featured 3 giant slabs of...more
