We came here WAY too early in the evening. The beer selection was meh, the music sounded like bad karaoke, even though there was a DJ shinning brightly coloured lights in our faces who was clearly playing it on purpose, and it was generally a fairly grim environment.
However, it seemed like the sort of place that would be excellent much later in the evening...much much later.

Popped in for a drink with some friends who live close by. No food to be found, but excellent Hobgoblin beer by Wychwood Brewery. and the bartender said we could snag some food from elsewhere and bring it in, which is nice.
It was pretty much empty when were there, so I can't speak to the normal atmosphere. Our bartender was nice and competent, and you can't ask for more than that.

Went back in 2010- and it was still fabulous.Good company, good beer, and great food. I'd fly back in a heartbeat just to eat at this place.more
A nice pub with reasonable drinks. I came here for a friend of a friends leaving do and it was nicely handled with reserved tables for us and even drink specials. We didn't stay too long but it seemed like a very cordial place.more
