I know I shouldn't judge the food based on American standard. Only the fish and chips were good. The spicy wings tasted worse than American microwave wings. The pea puree, just blend like baby food.

Come here for drinking, the drinks are affordable.more

Hmm, should I knock the food here? All the food in London is awful, and this place is no different.

The fish and chips was OK. The spicy chicken wings was gross.

The bartender was nice. Thanks to the exchange rate the drinks were cheap. Kind of a weird feeling place. I don't know if I'd come back.

PS: There was a 10% off if you checked in, but they say that deal doesn't exist anymore.more

It was a very awkward feeling bar. It was seemed to be mostly filled with old local lonely men that probably have nicknames for each other

Royal Oak was our first meal in London and we were not disappointed. Two of my dining companions ordered fish and chips and devoured their portions. The crust was perfectly crisp and not at all soggy. It was hard to pick a menu item but I ended up getting the sausage and mash. It was delicious paired with a pint after a long day of travel. The restaurant was quite busy but we were seated...more

I found the Royal Oak to be just fine. The beer was standard, the food was decent.. but not great. The fish and chips was soggy as if it was previously frozen. It's definitely a cute little place for a beer, and some of the other food may have been better than what we got. They have sports on TV if you're looking for somewhere to hang out and watch football. Service was friendly and quick.more
