St Alfege Church, designed by Hawsmoor, is where Henry VIII was baptised, and Thomas Tallis and General Wolfe are buried in the vaults. This is the site of the martyrdom of St Alfege, Archbishop of Canterbury, in 1012. Also, there are Grinling Gibbons woodwork and Jean Tijou altar railings in the church and in part of the gallery. Pilgrim route with introductory video.
