Strange bar really, at first I had really low expectations as I was told to meet friends here really early (not advised) and was the first one in the bar.

I was only here for the last couple of hours of business on January 1st (well technically it was the 2nd) But all I kept thinking was that if this bar was in Chicago I would be here every night. Fun, friendly patrons, a delightful staff (who even let me in free after they had closed out the door register) and drink prices that almost made me forget the dollar to pound exchange rate! I went to the Horse Meat Disco which is on Sunday nights. Although the name is slightly intimidating, the room has a friendly atmosphere, amazing music, and a decent draught beer selection for my fellow beer drinkers. Coming from someone who thinks the Horse Meat Disco on Sunday is legendary, I can now say I was a regular when I lived there.

If you like to have a great time with a happy bunch of people (all kinds- gay, straight, etc), go here! I always had a great time, and their special events never ceased to deliver! If you can make it to the HMD on a bank holiday Sunday, GO. Just go. Go early...more
