The Southwark Tavern is a strange place. Located just off Borough High Street, at the edge of Borough Market it makes for a busy pub. I came on a Friday night at about 9pm and there was diverse crowd of City workers, tourists and people out for a big night. A very convenient place to meet people, I think it would be better in the summer than a rainy February night..more
Okay, so perhaps The Southwark Tavern didn't have the first two ales I tried to order in stock. But once the charming lady behind the bar had made the apologies, I went on to order a Sunday Roast and settled in the corner with my friend (an actual human, not the pint of Cask Ale).

Great location for this pub (just a bit south from London Bridge, on the corner at Stony St. right next to Borough Market. Had an interesting beer, here, Stonehenge Eye Catcher, but tended to gravitate back to the more traditional London ales.
