The Hide Bar
Overview
The Hide is a Bermondsey Street fixture and a drinking destination, whether you're wanting to sample their carefully researched and fastidiously prepared cocktails, knock back some vintage Armagnac, or share a G&T with a local distiller. The bottles are as interesting as you'd expect for somewhere that shares a building with the Wine & Spirits Education Trust, and the food makes the most of nearby Borough Market and other local suppliers, offering dinner or an assortment of delectable sharing plates to order with the drinks. Come for an aperitif and you might not find yourself anting to leave until the early hours.

This is a decent pub/cocktail bar - slightly on the modern side for me. Served the Greenwich Brewery beers, which are very good and they have an immense selection of spirits.
Busy on Friday nights, and the crowd is "City".more
The Hide Bar is perfect for that on the way home drink. It also is a convenient stop for an unintentional Bermondsey street pub crawl starting at the Shipwright and going on down to Village East/Marigold.
I've been here before and was a bit turned off by the Friday night crowd and a truly horrible Sazerac I was served. The drink was so foul that I would have preferred to take straight shots...more
Very pleasantly surprised by The Hide. The place was charming and comfortable. Popped in with some friends for a pre-dinner drink and we ended up staying for a few rounds. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When one of us was unsure of what we wanted they just asked what kind of alcohol we liked and made all kinds of suggestions.
Will definitily make a return trip.more
More pubby in the front and cocktail bar in the back. Had a nice couch in back. Served nice martinis. Nibbles looked good. Wasn't expecting to find such a place on Bermondsey st so enjoyed the evening a lot. Not sure I would chose it as a destination but maybe pre drinks before dinner and village east would work.more
If you're looking for a respectable cocktail menu just south of the river, then the Hide is pretty much the place for you. But just because it's not as reputable as some cocktail bars in Shoreditch, don't expect to come prancing up to this place midweek expecting to get a table. No, you probably won't even manage to get standing room on a Thursday unless you book ahead.
But if you do book...more
