Madsen Restaurant
Overview
With its minimalist designer interior and glossy crowd straight from Scandinavian central casting, Madsen is an arty restaurant ideal for business lunches, shopping pit-stops and evening meals with a Nordic twist. Situated on the Old Brompton Road, the super-sleek dining room is dressed up with whitewashed walls, blonde wood flooring and iconic PH5 lamps by Poul Henningsen. The restaurant was recently awarded its first AA Rosette and attracts an upmarket crowd of Scandinavian ex-pats, art auctioneers and trustafarians. The main lunchtime attraction is Smørrebrød – a Danish open sandwich made with rye bread and toppings such as smoked salmon and dill mayonnaise. Traditional main courses include the stegt flæsk med persille - thick fried bacon slices with parsley béchamel sauce and pickled beetroot.
