Typical gastropub. We ended up coming for dinner because the place across the street was fully booked on a Wed evening and this place looked good. Not too full inside on a warm summer night. Saw a "beer garden" in the back that was pretty busy but we were looking for a meal.

Standard London pub. No frills, decent food (including deep fried halloumi, which is the closest thing I've found to mozzarella sticks in five years of living in London) with basics like fish and chips and burgers.

Large outdoor seating area with covered and uncovered sections. OK draft selection.more

This place is definitely worth a visit.

I've been here a few times, it's pretty much consistently been super busy, but for some reason I've never minded.

The Woolpack. Not the fictional public house on Emmerdale, but a quirky bar with a large beer garden in Borough.

I say beer garden, it's all artificial grass and whitewashed walls, but at least there are numerous picnic tables so you can at least pretend you're not within a short walk of London Bridge Station.

If you're a connoisseur of real ale, you won't find a particularly decent choice...more
