This market is truly a gem - my top recommendation is Niko B Chocolates handmade in Hackney by a very talented US expat who makes absolutely the most excellent food! There is also some really good focaccia and crusty bread right next to his chocolate - and if you are into cheese, there's plenty to be had. There are some repeats among the stalls -- but it's definitely a must-visit destination...more
Crosstown doughnuts, thank you for being here. I'm not sure I taste the sourdough, but I do know this is what a simple sugared doughnut is meant to taste and be like. The texture of doughnuts is so often just wrong, but this is oh so right. Thanks for breakfast, much appreciated.more
Last Thursday, I had just gotten off the airport bus, returning home from a week long holiday, and decided (luggage in hand) to stop at the Real Food Market. Lovely little open air market opened on Wed/Th/F on kings Cross plaza. It's perfect to grab a quick bite for lunch (the sausage rolls are divine) and a visit to Bad Brownies or Crosstown doughnuts is always a good idea in my book!more
A cute little market open Wednesday to Friday between noon and 7pm.
I'm only giving three stars because it is quite small, so perhaps it's not worth a separate market-browsing trip like many of its larger counterparts.
