Define irony. How about Americans learning how to make classic American cocktails in a Cocktail Masterclass in London being taught by an Italian named Stani!

Although the event was a bit ironic, it didn't take away from the amazing time we had and the nice buzz we got from making libations and meeting new friends at the Fifth Floor Bar at Harvey Nichols.

Drawn by the Thanksgiving menu, which was delicious - although I'm not sure halibut is a staple for Turkey Day - I was disappointed by the bar - overheated, with roaring music and slow service (we waited ten minutes to pay the tab and then left for the restaurant, where it was added to the bill, which defeated the point of buying someone a drink).

A fantastic place which is always buzzing with people.

Depending on the time of day you can have breakfast, afternoon tea (not to be missed) or lunch.

The afternoon tea is always really nice and the cake selection is lovely (keep an eye out for the dark chocolate tarte).

We popped in here for a cup of tea on a very busy Sunday afternoon and it was absolutely packed. We had to wait in line for about 10 minutes before we were seated.
