At first I was a little confused as to how there could possibly be a café in a church, but this was an excellent experience both for food and the atmosphere! I would essentially consider this a destination to visit as a tourist, because not only do you get great, cheap food, you also get the experience of eating the crypt of a church. Fantastic place to hang out and get some food/drinks, for a very affordable price. Soak up some history under the St. Martin-in-the-Field Church's Crypt! They have done a great job modernizing this cavern into a modern cafeteria. Possibly the cheapest English breakfast served here, in Convent Garden. There's also a great value lunch/dinner menu as well!more

The setting itself merits a visit. In the crypts below St Martin in the Fields church. So you are seated below a series of beautiful and old stone archways that hold up the entire building.

It's a cafeteria style cafe, but quality and...more
