I have a love/hate relationship with Selfridges.

We'll start with the hate: my God, this place is constantly packed to the gills with tourists. Granted, I am a tourist. But the sheer volume of people can be overwhelming at times.

I really only go to two places in Selfridges - the Food Hall (including the candy section) and the handbag section. I could easily spend an hour in just these two areas, not even necessarily spending a single pound.

Seriously -- what's NOT to love about Selfridges?! From the food halls with every type of cuisine you could ask for to the sprawling beauty section to the highest of high end designers - everything about this store is superb. The main thing I love about European department stores is how ornate they are in comparison to American ones and Selfridges does not disappoint in that respect.

You can spend a full day inside this very large department store, and not be finished (but your wallet may be finished by then).

We started off our day by going to Selfridges for boxing day sales on oxford st. We caught the train to bond st station and walked a few minutes. There was a queue outside to get in. This place is massive but only fULL OF Designer brands.

I made my way to the Burberry store looking for.a Burberry coat or trenchcoat and even after 50% off, the COats cost  around 700 to 1000 pounds. Definitely...more
