It was at these premises in 1706 that the famous tea company R Twining was founded. Originally a tea shop, it now houses a small museum showing the history of Twinings and shop.
It is the oldest shop in the City of Westminster, trading on the same site with the same family, and the same product, tea and coffee.
Don't miss the Loose Tea Bar where you can sample Twining's finest tea.

Do you love tea?! Then you should definitely stop by Twinings, if you ever find yourself in London. I loved the family portraits on the walls and the little history space in the very back. They sell quite a variety of teas here and you can purchase individual tea bags (in sampler sets),...more
It's quite possible that you can find all of the teas in this store online somewhere -- heck, I even saw Twinings tea available in K-cups on keurig.com. Still. there is something about the attractive displays, the cute gift boxes, and the ability to sniff the different varietals to your hearts content that makes a buying some tea in person at this shop special.more
This was one of the places I was most looking forward to visiting while in London, I have been eager to see the shop since I saw a short fluff piece aired by NBC during the 2012 Olympics. The lychee green tea I bought was very good, but the customer service I experienced in the shop was downright bad.more
My 500th Yelp review!!

The shop is a tiny narrow space jam-packed with tea and tea-lovers. Also wet floors, while the staff...more
