As a charity who run events in London, we provisionally booked the Jerwood Space meeting rooms 8 and 9 by telephone. The following day a member of staff from the Jerwood called to demand a confirmation immediately in writing, despite the fact that I had told her we would have to confirm venue with the speaker and other staff members who were on annual leave (half term). The Jerwood Space is relatively new to the arts scene, having only opened in October 2008. They offer a gallery space, events and meeting space and a rehearsal space, giving smaller independent artists and theatre groups the chance to work in a cheaper area and sometimes along side the bigger companies too.

The Jerwood Space also has a rather nice cafe/restaurant. You order your grub from the counter, then go and sit in the conservatory which is very white and calm (and a little chilly in the winter). You can then keep an eye out for the various famous types who always seem to be using the rehearsal space (Ewan McGregor and Darius Danesh have been recent spots) or perhaps flirt with the handsome...more
