The White Hart

This Victorian Goliath at the river’s edge has been through a huge transformation of late. The new Head Chef, for example, is BBC MasterChef finalist Tom Whitaker, the new restaurant boasts its own smokery, and there are balconies on each of its three floors. Look out for future master classes, wine tastings, and supplier evenings.

Make sure if you are allergic to mayonnaise don't order battered fish because it has mayonnaise inside the batter. The best thing about this pub is its location, but expect it to get very crowded when the Oxbridge boat race is on.

They replaced their sign with one that looks silly.more

I've lived in Barnes for 14 years and this pub has experienced such a transformation. Just a few years ago, it was run by a surly landlord, the tables and chairs were sticky and uncomfortable, and NO KIDS were allowed (not even my 3mo infant).

It's now bright, light, comfortable and staffed by a pretty good crew. The takeover of The Terrace Kitchen by a former Masterchef finalist was the...more

This place is a great place to be on a sunny day after enjoying time along the Thames path. Great outdoor deck with a BBQ and good riverside tables. Take in a pitcher of Pimms. The food is fine--nothing to write home about and it is pricey for what it is. A small halloumi salad with hummus was 14 pounds if I remember correctly. Ouch!

The inside of the pub is quite nice. So proceed with...more

The food and service in this pub is shocking. No kids menu either.

I had a burger that was cold and overlooked. The waitress couldn't have cared less.

So many good choices round there, this pub isn't worth your time or moneymore
