The Clapham North
Overview
Situated on London’s Clapham Road, in the area that gives it its name, is The Clapham North, a pub-restaurant beloved by the area’s locals. Decorated in easy, modern public house style with chrome beer taps at the bar, plenty of stripped wood and blackboards displaying specials, The Clapham North has just the right balance of character and unpretentious friendliness, the sort of place where you’ll as likely find hand-holding couples as a group watching football on a big screen. In addition to the bars wide range of beers, wines and cocktails The Clapham North offers weekend brunch, lunch and dinner menus with a British flavour. From the humble beef burger to a tasty risotto there’s something for all tastes.

In the area on my mate's birthday, we were on the hunt for a pint and a festive, friendly atmosphere. We passed some other spots on Clapham High Street, dismissing them as too classy or mature for the night we were itchin' for. We popped into Clapham North to get a pint (or two) before pressing on, and before we finished our second, most of the place erupted into an 80s and 90s pop...more
Nothing particularly wrong with The Clapham North IMHO, been here a few times for a swift pint.
And usually that's what it is, very swift. I tend to get wound up by the stange mix of people in here. Ok, so the North Clapham area tends to be where those fresh out of the graduation robes reside, that's fine. It tends to be where people get off the tube when people want to go for that 'Clapham...more
I have been there a couple of times and I quite like it as it is a convenient meeting point (facing Clapham North station) and you can relax when waiting for your mate. A bit crowded on the week end but it is good fun an nice atmosphere! As people mentioned in their reviews good starting point for the night!more
This warm and inviting pub situated directly opposite Clapham North station is a great place for meeting friends and having a quick bevvie or two. It is spacious, attracts a mixed friendly and somewhat good-looking crowd and being next to the tube means that everyone can find the place and there's not too far to run to catch the last tube. The decor is very homely and the staff are quick and...more
Great London Pub for this neighborhood. Lots of space and friendly staff. We hung out here while watching the Euro Cup and it was quite an experience. They have many beers and ciders on tap.
Plenty of TVs to catch your desired sporting event and outdoor seating to enjoy the show on the sidewalk that is a classic London neighborhood.
Grab a stool and have a beer! Pip pip Cheerio! (yeah I...more
