There has been a bridge over the Thames at this site for nearly 2000 years. The first one was built by the Romans while the current one opened in 1973. London Bridge is a simple, functional bridge which is sometimes confused with its more elaborate neighbour, Tower Bridge.

London Bridge is apparently the first bridge to be built in London. It's quite handy, has London Bridge station on on the south side which has links to the Jubilee and Northern line and also mainline rail services. You can also walk down the Southbank, east will take you to Tower Bridge and the mayors office, passing Hays Galleria and west will take you towards Waterloo.

A lot of people get confused between the London bridge and Tower Bridge , they are not the same.
London bridge is old and full of history from back in the day. It's a good place to get a good photo of Tower Bridge; its a pretty normal looking bridge, nothing fancy.
