Elegant, Michelin starred Quilon doesn't shout about its refined menu of South Indian coastal cuisine, which specialises in tangy seafood; it's far too discreet. Appealingly decorated in a muted palette, with wicker-backed chairs adding to the colonial air, the restaurant attracts business diners and social gatherings in equal parts to its well-heeled St. James's location. The team at Quilon use only the best ingredients and cooking techniques to ensure that each dish highlights their collective passion for home-style Indian cuisine. Always looking for ways to innovate, Quilon often experiments with combining modern and traditional elements of South Indian cuisine to ensure that a unique range of dishes can be found on the menu. The renowned seafood dishes include the Spiced Grilled Red Snapper, Koondapur Fish Curry and Pan Fried Lobster with Kashmundi Mustard Cream Sauce and Spices. For the perfect accompaniment to your meal, you can also choose from an extensive selection of drinks from the wine list, which was recognised in 2009 with Wine Spectator's prestigious Award of Excellence.

This was the only michellin star that we could visit in London. They certainly deserve the Michelin star.
The service is impeccable.
We got the tasting menu . Our initial thought was that portion wont be enough but we were totally wrong. The portions and the food were just amazing. Everything on the tasting menu was just superb. My favorite was the masala prawn.

When someone says the words "prawn masala" to a foodie you don't really have a choice but to try it. What wasn't in the recommendation was that the entire menu is amazing. A foodie friend and I sampled 12+ dishes and 4 desserts (no judgement); which resulted in the best meal I've had in life. To top it off, after 5 amazing courses of incredible service we found out that there was a no tipping...more
The level of service at this restaurant is really beyond anything I've ever experienced. My wife and I booked a meal here on a whim on a Saturday night and were certainly not let down in any way.
We had the 5-course meal, accompanied by a Fullers 2009 and left extremely satisfied.
Their after-dinner treat (complementary) didn't hurt either: coins of chocolate blended with either candied rose...more
Michelin star and a sister restaurant to the redoubtable Bombay Brasserie? Man was I expecting a lot. Quilon mostly delivered, but it doesn't really meet the bar for an unreservedly gushing review.
We got the tasting menu. The menu is ambitious and the food is mostly great. Rather than missteps, some dishes simply just don't hold up to scrutiny - the Malabar biryani, while quite authentic...more
