This historical gem is the latest branch of Thai Square situated on the Strand, opposite the famous law courts. Formally trading as the famous Wig and Pen Club, this building is reputed to be the only one on the Strand to have survived the great Fire of London. Built in 1625, number 230 was the home of the Gatekeeper of Temple Bar who unwittingly began the catering tradition at this site by offering 'pennorth of meat and bread' to the crowds who used to gather at the Temple Gate. Highly trained and experienced Thai Chefs have created an extensive menu featuring the finest aspects of Thai cuisine.

As Molly R would have it,
CHEAP QUICK DECENT.
I'd only put that up as 3 stars. Nothing was spectacular. Flavours a little muddled-- not how they should be for Thai.
Fair-to-middling wine list- some decent stuff that'll go down a treat, though we didn't particularly need more wine by this point (*ahem*)
Aaaaaand... that's about it.more
Thai Square is a trusted venue for Thai food and this venue is no different. Whilst the chain is never going to blow you away the food was fine, service was okay and you go away having not blown too big a whole in your wallet. This restaurant served a need following a few post work drinks.more
Good food. It was v quiet when I visited (only 2 other couples). The service was attentive...at times too attentive as they would come and stand nearby as you ate and take your dishes as soon as you finished. Atmosphere good for quick romantic meal or group of friends.more
