This restaurant started off as a great steak house that had decent service. Over a year has gone past and everything has gone downhill. Not sure if anyone is managing this restaurant anymore as the staff are rude, obnoxious and don't seem to want to serve anyone.

The place is very nice looking, but no air circulation inside, so use the outdoor seating. The Cider was amazingly tasty. The food was very very slow served. The grilled baby chicken plate was good, add some salt & pepper. But the Beef Rib plate was terrible and pricey. Ribs were not cooked properly, chewy and tough , was burnt Krispy on outside smothered in BBQ sauce. Hard on your teeth....more
Worst ever steakhouse( so they called themselves ).
Soft drinks came flat and we had to replace them with bottle ones. I had a ribeye steak which was just fine. I ordered it medium and more than 2/3 of it is well done. My wife ordered a siriloin steak medium cooked. When it came , it was well done too ( no surprise) . When we talked to the waitor , she took it the " CHIEFS" , and all agreed...more
I've had a fair bit of rude service in my life, but this one takes the cake for my experience in London thus far. Steax and The City is one of those bar / restaurants near my workplace, so it really does baffle me when they can be so rude in a office / business area.

What a name! I would go just for the name, but not everyone likes puns as much as I do. My friend who is a London resident recommended this place for a quick bite on New Years Eve and he assured us all that we wouldn't need to book.
