I recommend the Scrumpy Jack. Lovely ambience in here, very friendly and although it often gets busy it's a nice crowd and not too loud. I like the candles on the tables...although the children in the paintings to the left of the bar freak me out - I bet they come alive at night...

I experienced a fantastic Sunday lunch here recently with friends. We started out at the Flask (I'll spend more time there the next time), where I met friends but it didn't last as we had to go to The Wrestlers to meet the rest of the group. This place is very friendly, has a good bar and a wonderful fireplace for just such occasions. While we had to wait 30 minutes for a table, we didn't mind...more
Two pubs in Highgate meet the 5 star mark.
The Wrestlers and The Flask. The Wrestlers is a real pub with a friendly landlord and friendly staff. They have regulars who always seem to be there and then huge swathes of people like me who pop in every week or two.
This is an amazing winter pub with the large log fire and the list of wines as long as your arm.
