What a gem - this feels like a well kept secret.

It's an all-day restaurant, but we rocked up on a Saturday morning and opted for brunch.

I always enjoy discovering neighborhood gems and this one is lively with a fun and eclectic decor. Most of the guests at dinner ordered the pan roast rump steak which was apparently very good. The sun came out and the temperature was warm enough to sit outside comfortably for the first time in six months, and Assiette Anglaise appeared just as I was walking home from my boyfriend's place, slightly hungover and definitely hungry.

Friends just moved nearby and we decided to check out Assiette Anglaise for brunch. It's a bright little place, very open and airy, and nicely decorated. The menu isn't huge, but has a little bit for everyone.
