Traveled from Los Angeles to this place by word of mouth! Came during a weekday lunch with my mom. It was empty! They said they are typically busy during the evening. I did not mind being the only people in there as the waiter was extremely talkative and friendly and we chatted throughout the lunch.

As riccardiniho says below - the best reason to visit Cafe Bangla is the murals. Besides the amazing Princess Diana, the other sumptuous painting are worthy of being Mills & Boon covers.

The food was just average - butter chicken a bit greasy, peshwari naan way too sweet, and our veggie friend had mainly onions in his dish. But the chicken karai was well-spiced and just right. Pleasant...more

Yuss! The best thing about this place is the erotic art all over the walls, it's really weird and creepy.... and then, bang in the middle is a giant painting of Lady Diana NOT being spooned by a yoked dude whilst wearing chiffon and riding a dragon.

The chicken tikka massala here is a goodun', the food in general is inexpensive and taste-tastic. A brick lane fave!

I have used this little gem (Cafe Banlga) a few times in the last couple of weeks. It's the sort of place you just want to dive into after work, no major frills or airs and graces, just crackingly good grub at a price that anyone can afford.

Right I'll be perfectly honest about this place there is one reason I love it and one reason only, it has walls of traditional paintings and then all of a sudden there is a massive and I mean massive painting of Princess Diana!!! It is absolutely brilliant!! I demand to sit there every time I go which given how popular it is means i tend to wait a while!!!
