Started by Mohammad Tayyab more than 30 years ago, this family run restaurant in historic Whitechapel has grown in size and reputation over the years. Originally a daytime café for locals and those in the know, Tayyabs eventually opened an evening restaurant in an adjoining Victorian pub. The menu is 100% halal.

Awesome Indian/Pakistani food in the heart of London. I am glad i made a reservation a week in advance or else it will be at least an hour wait. Food was finger licking good, spicy and full of flavors. We got the mixed grill meat platter (highly recommend it if you want to try everything), chicken tiki marsala, lamb curry, garlic naan, Peshwari naan, lamb chops, mango lassi popsicles, etc....more

This restaurant is good but not great.

I ordered the following items:

Mutton Grill (3.5/5)

Lamb Chops (3/5)

Chicken Tiki Marsala (4.5/5)

Garlic Nan (3/5)

Mango Lassi (4.5/5)

The meat came on a sizzling pan, the naan was freshly made and so warm when it came out.

The very best thing was actually was the mango lassi! We...more
