The food was good, the music was fair, and most importantly, they have board games. They're tucked away, so you pretty much have to ask, but I do love a pub with board games. 4 hours into monopoly I was cursing my friends for getting me into the whole thing, of course, but that's not the pub's fault.
All in all, a fine place to spend a Sunday afternoon.more
The pub is fine, the venue is big enough for bands to play not annoying the ones not really into the music night.
Food is not the best you can find at least in my only experience with that, drinks are fine in general.

This pub most people find when wandering from Finsbury Park to Crouch End - it has a large interior space, with large bar too. It's a stalwart - been around for ages, does a perfectly good job of being a pub, that serves some reasonable food. Not too cheap, not too pricey.

So chain pubs aren't really my thing, but this one has a few positive points that make it worth a visit. The Finsbury Park area seems to be devoid of decent pubs, so the options are limited anyway.
The bar has all the standard beers, wines and spirits, and the décor is typical of a chain pub. The thing that I like about it is the live music.
