We enjoyed good food and drinks. Can heartily recommend the cod & chips and the Smoked Cheddar Pie. Friendly staff, pleasant setting and reasonable prices. Highly recommended.more
Really solid pub with a good selection of cask ales and surprisingly good food combined with a friendly attentive staff. Only wish they would turn the music down a bit and or mix up some Jazz and big band in with the pop crap, I can recommend the Fish and Chips, firm nice batter and flakey, as well as the Mixed Grill, MR equals pink not red, nice charred sausage, a price of chicken and grilled...more
This pub is kinda a so so one for me. We went for a Christmas lunch earlier and it was just ok. We had made a reservation so got a decent sized table, but despite it being quite empty, it took a 30/40 mins for the food to come and they had ran out of all meat except chicken, which for me wasn't a big deal, but was a bit disappointing for my friends.
Price wise it was between £9-£14 for a main...more
More or less a spontaneous visit for me since I just happened to walk by and I gotta say I was kinda suprised.
I was craving a beer and some fish&chips and that was what I went for.
They offer a variety of beer, all of em draught, I decided to go for some Amber Ale which was quite nice.
Adding to that fish & chips, which was very tasty aswell, paid ~15pounds for the package.
I don't have that...more
Right next to conrad. Convenient location and friendly staff. I only had a quick lunch here but it was memorable. They have a great selection of draught beers. We split a large fish and chips platter. The cod was some of the freshest and biggest I've had. Extremely fresh and flaky with a light batter that lets the fish come through. Excellent tarter on the side and mashed peas.
