I wouldn't describe myself as a clubber but I was lucky enough to see Mr Scruff perform a 4+ hour set here and it was a faith-restoring moment.
Plastic People is a small club, with a capacity of just 200. The space inside is very roughly divided into three spaces: a dance floor in the dark next to the DJ, a space next to the bar with a few seats to aid chilling out, and a space by the stairs...more
If you're looking to get your face melted off by some amazing DJ's this is the place to be. You'll have your person, wallet, bag, and toupee searched on the way in since they have (allegedly) had issue with people and drugs here in the past, but you'll feel that much safer when you get inside. It costs 10 quid to get in, but hey, it usually costs twenty quid to get that much attention ;)...more
This tiny spot tucked away near shoreditch has one killer soundsystem! I went here on a Thurs night for a weekly called FWD, which I heard was top notch for dubstep/grime beats And I got exactly what I was looking for. THe crowd was young and hip but I definitely didn't feel like they were snotty or pretentious. I had a blast, and felt the bass. For those of you who want to maintain your...more

We had a tough time finding this place because there was no sign, and it was basically a gated door on the street that people start lining up at and bouncers admitting you in around 10pm. You walk down a dark staircase in to what can only be described as dubstep hell. Black room with small bar and even smaller selection of drinks. Into another even darker room is the...more
Plastic People is one of my favorite clubs in London. They typically do the 'one in, one out' system once the club fills up so I'd recommend going early. If tickets are on the door, buy drinks from the off license a few doors down, and make friends in line. The venue itself is small and intimate, and the women's bathrooms are always clean! Most importantly, the sound is incredible.
