Evoking the essence of Argentinian cooking, Gaucho Canary offers a passionately compiled mix of steaks, classic South American recipes, and drinks compiled by a 'Bartender of the Decade' award winner. Contrasting with the simplicity and richness of the dishes, the sultry, clean-cut dining room pays homage to its meat-focused menu, decked out in smooth leather and spotted cow hide. A 150-strong wine list celebrates Argentina's unrivalled growing regions and includes some supreme rare bottles, while the cocktail list takes inspiration from Buenos Aires culture from 1930 through to 1960.

Upon arrival I was greeted and made to feel extremely welcome. I usually go to the Hampstead branch and always book a table in advance because they can get really busy. I did that again with this branch. So getting a table wasn't an issue.

3.5 stars? Get out of my face! This place is fantastic and you know it. Yeah, it's expensive. So what? What are you doing here if you can't afford it? The selection of wine (especially red) is quite good, though they obviously lean heavily towards the Malbec. Given it's recent novelty status, though I feel like it has died down, there are a lot of overpriced bottles on the menu. Steer away...more
