About

This beautiful piece of structural engineering was built in 1882, replacing a previous bridge which could not support modern heavy traffic. The bridge was designed by Sir Joseph Bazalgette and rests on the same pier foundations constructed for the previous structure. Make a crossing to enjoy the distinctive design of the bridge and take in some stunning views over the river Thames.
