The Thai Square chain of restaurants has made another addition in London's Mansion House. This part of the East End can now indulge in delicious Thai cuisine that uses authentic Thai ingredients flown in daily from Thailand. The interior is atmospheric and classy, using traditional Thai colours, alongside ornate carvings and a rather swish bar. The food is for Thai fans of every level; novices might like to try a pad Thai or green curry, while more experienced diner could opt for gang phed phed yang or Massumun curry. A 3-course meal costs around £31 per person.

Ordered the selection of starters, a quarter of duck and a pad Thai.
Positives were the 2-4-1 cocktails until 7.30pm, the very fast service and the quality of the food which was great.
Downsides were that it was quite pricey for what it actually was (£14 for the quite small ten piece starter selection and £14 for a quarter of duck). Also, because it wasn't very busy, you got the feeling that...more
This restaurant was a gem in the Mansion House area off the main strip. The décor was pleasantly authentic and offered a very traditional feel. We tried the sampler appetizer and everything from the crab rangoon to chicken setae was delicious. I went with a spicy chicken and red curry dish that was also very tasty. We showed up later than I care to eat, about 9ish, and got right down to business. TS is more of a "your order please" type place instead of a "how is your meal" small talk...more
It's ok. Probably 2.5 stars, but it 's a sunny day and I'm feeling generous, so pushed it up to 3 rather than down to 2. (That's probably more information than you need, so I apologise!)
It's dark, cavernous and when we went, it had an alarming leak over one side of the restaurant, so it was quite busy only on one side!
The food is standard Thai Square food, and they will not deviate from...more
The short version: Fun decor, fairly good service, and good Thai-style (not very authentic) food.
I went to Thai Square with a couple work colleagues, and we all enjoyed Thai Square. And we all left saying: that was good, but it wasn't flavored like Thai food we've had elsewhere (including in Thailand). The dishes are all familiar: Pad Thai, Tom Yum, etc. but in what we had (satay, Pad Thai,...more
