This theatre is very old fashioned, you almost feel like your stepping into the 80's but this isn't a bad thing, if anything I like the grittiness of it and it isnt pretentious at all. I've seen 3 shows here and they've all been brilliant. So its definitely content over style here which is so important. Its about the actual art not the beauty!!more
This is a great theatre. It's very central from the train/DLR station and bus stops and is also located near a car park with free parking after 18.30. It shows a variety plays for adults and children and their program changes regularly. There are many pubs and restaurants around the theatre, however the theatre does have a bar. Overall, a good evening out. It does get hot in there though!more
In the home of time they like to start a little late, which is a major bug bear for me and suburban theatres. And they need to put on the air con.
Despite these rather cosmetic issues, the venue gets four stars because they responded promptly to a ticket snafu completely of my making without fuss and in good humour.more
