Overview

Open 365 days a year, the Albert is a large Victorian pub built in 1864. The pub has survived virtually in its original form with large etched glass windows, an ornate ceiling and among its other features the Prime Ministers Gallery, Queen Victoria's napkin and the Parliamentary Division Bell.

Our range of drinks includes cask ale and an extensive wine list as well as a great range of soft drinks and coffees.

With fabulous British food to accompany our drinks, you can relax at this Taylor Walker pub over classics such as hand battered cod, chips and mushy or garden peas, traditional British recipe bangers & mash or a roast of the day seven days a week. Our pub food is freshly prepared and includes all your British favourites. We also offer a range of sandwiches and jacket potatoes.

We are delighted to welcome you at Taylor Walker and assure you of friendly service in a relaxing British pub with a welcoming atmosphere.

The Albert is popular with tourists and also plays host to the many regulars from the nearby Houses of Parliament. Situated close to Victoria Station, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace, there is access for coaches. Our large 130 seater Victorian Restaurant is the perfect venue for touring parties and group functions.

I love (quite fancy) the ambiance of The Albert, charming and cozy, though it may not be as 'happening' as other pubs....nice for dates, family, or business. There were quite a few tourists around maybe due to its location.

Hearing so many negative things about fish n chips, I braced myself to try it...turns out it was pretty good, not too greasy and no bone in my fish...though yes it would...more

A bit polished for a true English pub, this is a nice, fairly relaxed place to get a pint and food. Yes, it is a tourist trap, but we were fair game, considering our foray into a "real pub" next to our hotel a few nights before that left us with sour stomachs. This was much better than that and a comfort given the rather corporate area the building is in. Another pleasant extra: very nice...more

My wife and I went to The Albert for lunch the Christmas season and really loved it. So much we sent back several times. The food was good, the mulled wine was good and the service was very good each time we went. We would certainly recommend The Albert Tavern!more

TOURIST TRAP ALERT!

This place looks sooooo cool. I'll admit it, it totally hooked me with its cool windows, it's mom & pop exterior look, it's European allure.

HOOKED ME!

These cool looking restaurants are located throughout the city (We also ate at The White Swan before we realized the catch) and the decor, location and theme are all so perfect that you can't resist, but then you...more

I enjoyed the Albert while I stayed in London. Although the service was average (typical pub), it wasn't bad. And the food was pretty good pub food, large portions, lots of good beers, great atmosphere and good location. I will certainly go back if and when I am in London again.more
