Overview

Located on Whitechapel Road not far from the Royal London Hospital, Zaza’s Grill is a colourful restaurant that is famed for its Punjabi cuisine from Pakistan. First things first, the dining room here is brilliant – you’ll love the plum coloured walls, open plan kitchen, lush purple banquettes and the hand-crafted light fittings. But of course you’ll ultimately keep coming back for the amazing food. The owners of Zaza’s Grill have been running a restaurant in Pakistan for 15 years, and have brought their superb family recipes all the way to this little corner of east London. With its own juice bar and super-friendly atmosphere, Zaza’s Grill is a great place for affordable get-togethers with friends and business meetings.

I don't get that excited about eating out around Whitechapel Tube station - it's a lot of fast food fried chicken and questionable hole-in-the-wall spots covered in 10 years' worth of grease and grime. Imagine my surprise to stroll into Zaza's, at the heart of Whitechapel (a stone's throw from the Mosque) and get great, friendly service and fantastic food and drink.

Came here late one night with a friend, when many other places were closed (open late = convient).

Service was really good, and the waiters were friendly and tried hard to keep us happy.

Had lamb samosas, which were very good (and decently priced), then a lamb tikka massala...which was good, but not amazing. (meat was good quality, but i've had better sauces).

Also had some mango lassis....more
