Surprisingly though the Royal Trafalgar hotel, home to Squares is found on a genuinely quiet street, between Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square; a relaxing stop close to the capital’s famously busy streets. The entire four star hotel, including has been designed and decorated to a high standard with an expensive refurbishment creating light and space in a modern-classic style. Nowhere is the high design standard more well displayed than in the Squares dining room where dark wood furniture and polished floors create warmth in a gallery-like space, leading out through large glass doors to an al-fresco terrace. The exciting Squares menu features not just well done modern British dishes but sleek European recipes too, iconic choices given delicious facelifts. Chosen to run alongside the menu is an extensive but carefully picked wine list with a blend of new and old world wines.
