Overview

Opened in July 2011 by self-taught chef Mikael Jonsson, Hedone has quickly established itself on the London dining scene receiving acclaim from national as well as international reviewers. <br />In October 2011 Hedone won the One to Watch award at the National Restaurant Awards and got awarded of its first Michelin star in October 2012,followed by breaking into position 70 of the San Pelegrino world's 50 best list.<br />A very innovative setting with a totally open kitchen that serves to show that the chef has “nothing to hide”. <br />

Hype Hype! We'd heard lots and lots about this place since its opening and being from Hammersmith we got all excited.

What exactly is an ingredient fascist? And what were these idiosyncrasies people were joyfully talking about. Fay Machler and the guy from the times, can't remember his name have both given it 5 stars apparently. So this was the place for my birthday treat.

We had an excellent meal at Hedone. My tip is go for the table / bar overlooking the kitchen for a great experience.

The service was spot on - attentive without being suffocating, and they seemed genuinely interested in what customers thought.

Each dish was executed perfectly and for 5 courses I thought the final bill of £170 for two (including two glasses of wine) was just right.

Recently, I have witnesses more and more restaurants move away from rich, overworked dishes to simpler fare which highlights the quality of the ingredients rather than the ego of the chef. There is no better example than Hedone which if wasn't located in Chiswick would surely be more widely reviewed on Yelp and certainly more celebrated.

I was invited for a dinner here as the place had started to receive good reviews back in April 12'. The food was good and very creative but nothing amazing when it came to taste. I would try it again but only if in the area.more
