An English restaurant with a French accent, or perhaps a French restaurant in a bowler hat, whichever it is Notting Hill’s Goode & Wright is all about bringing together the best from both sides of the Channel. Located on London’s Portobello Road, Goode & Wright has all the hallmarks of a classic bistro in its cosy interior, from the chequerboard flooring to the wood-panelled walls, leather banquettes and a sense of pared back elegance. Though on entering you’ll walk beneath the oldest sign on the street – dating from the 20s – you’ll soon discover that Good and Wright is absolutely dedicated to freshness. Chef Finlay believes very strongly in letting quality produce speak for itself, and so on his menu you’ll find the simplicity and style that comes from a blend of locally sourced and imported traditional French ingredients.
