It just so happens that on a stroll through central yesterday, I came across the other Scoop. Yay, direct comparison time!

So compared to the Scoop nearer Covent Garden, this one is a LOT bigger. It's much easier to queue as you can actually get inside the shop, and browsing the flavours is easier as well because of it.

But in terms of everything else, it's exactly the same. Same delicious...more

The portions are huge. I got a small and could not finish it.

It was okay. I got the dark chocolate (very dark, be warned) and the cheesecake (which was delicious) but I was disappointed after all the hype.

The cone was ehhh at best.

My advice? head to Gelupo down the street.more

Best ice-cream in London. I prefer this shop to the other Scoops that are available, as in the summer you can wander up to Golden Square with your purchase and enjoy the few hours of sunshine in the way the gods intended. It is worth the queues and often goes very quickly. If you are going alone or as a couple you might be lucky enough to get a table and I can recommend the pancakes. However...more

Great gelato. Great bubbly service. The passion fruit was definitely from real passion fruit--sour, sweet, slightly bitter, great texture. The scooper recommended what she called cookies and cream, which was called biscotto. *Heeeeeeeeeead Freeeeeeze*

...but the gelato is so good, I'm sure I can cope with another small bite...

So, I really liked my raspberry sorbet + cheesecake flavoured gelato, but it isn't always a good idea to eat something this lovely (and cold) on a chilly evening in November. Ah well...it made my head hurt, but I still really enjoyed it!
