A lovely little bar on the increasingly trendy Bradbury Street. SJQ has cocktails galore and free live music in its basement. It's not always jazz either.
The bar staff are friendly and at 9pm the background music is not deafening on a Friday evening which always annoys me about other places. This is a good place to come and chat.

SJQ was my introduction to Dalston, and what an intro it was!
As you enter SJQ, there is a welcoming and cozy bar area done up with junky knick knacks and general kitsch. There is an uncoordinated random seating area with no theme to the decor. The basement level is an intimate performance area, where you're very likely to not get a seat. We had to make do with floor seating, but it was nice....more
Love this bar. Very chilled out, pretty good cocktails (which can take awhile to make so be prepared to wait), and musical acts to keep you entertained downstairs.more
THIS VENUE RULES! Old school underground london at it's finest. It was named after it's proximity to the Dalston Jazz Bar (i.e. it's right behind), and although it doesn't hold events very often, they are always of a high standard and with a beautiful atmosphere.
