I got tea and a slice of Victoria sponge. The tea was fine, piping hot, in a cup. The sponge, however, was a real disappointment. It had been kept cold, so the cake was tough and dry, the buttercream an unappetizing texture. The only flavor that came through was that of the jam.
The service was fine, patient while I made my choice, but prompt with service.

When in London I always loved stopping in here, usually for a coffee and a croissant and on my way out the door I'd get whichever loaf of bread caught my eye.
