The Institut français du Royaume-Uni (French Cultural Institute in the UK), offers a wide range of activities. The Language Centre caters to language learners of all levels, with courses to suit all timetables and interests. Ciné lumière, the Institute's cinema, screens French, European and World cinema, while the programme of talks offers a window onto French literary and intellectual life. A recently launched programme of classical music events brings together French and British musicians. The freely accessible multi-media library, la Médiathèque, holds the largest open-access collection of French-language material in the UK, and is housed in a listed art-deco premises.

The Cine Lumiere inside Institut Francais is a gem. The seats are comfortable, and there is TONS of leg room! No squeezing past the people next to you to run to the loo!
