I popped in after reservations at another place fell through. At that point in the night the other member of my party and me were getting pretty testy. Between being hungry and tired, I was resigned that this would just be another lack luster meal at a chain restaurant. Boy was I wrong! Our family is gluten-free, and BananaTree offers limited but worthwhile GF gems. The chicken satay, and in particular the peanut sauce, was great and the papaya salad had a nice kick to it. The server was knowledgable about GF and was attentive. A small pocket of GF dining in Soho. One suggestion to BananaTree, include "GF" on your menu like you list Vegetarian.more

My friend and I who are Soho regulars chanced upon this South-East Asian restaurant and latest edition to Wardour Street last week and although it was busy and we hadn't booked, we were squeezed in.

The food was delicious, we shared the Chicken & Shitake Money Bags and Kau Chi Dumplings for starters and considering they were starters, the portion sizes were generous.

I honestly don't remember much from this meal. I got absolutely plastered the night before and even though this was dinner the next night I was still so hungover I think I was probably still drunk if that's even possible.
